I've never liked that either, but it's optimised for mobile/tablet devices. It looks fucking amazing on a tablet. Still looks the same on Tapatalk even on a tablet.... I get what you are trying to do, but just how many view the page on a tablet via a browser vs a PC?

Looks nice.... But damn do I hate that it is just like Facebook and only uses half of my screen (the bit down the middle). Seriously... Just how many people still have 4:3 monitors?
-
Looks just the same... Wait, I'm on tapatalk. Will check it out when I get home.

yeah, only 5" I have 8" esi monitors, but you really have to turn them up quite loud to get any sort of clarity. this used to be alright back at mum and dad's, but not quite the same in a small from of a unit I kinda wished I had have bought 5's plus a sub. My 8" monitors take up so much desk real estate.

Looks sexy... They 5"?

Dr. Dre’s Beats by Dre Cost An Estimated $14 To Make
Kodiak replied to Cupe's topic in DJ Headquarters
I'm surprised they cost that much tbh. After doing one of my Engineering units and looking at cost of some electronic components (ie the coin motor that vibrates your phone costs 2 cents) is amazing just how little shit costs out of China. -
Can SoundCloud Win Back the Musicians It Pissed Off?
Kodiak replied to LabRat's topic in DJ Headquarters
Good read. -
Hope you don't mind... I'm bored and got nothing else to do and wanted to see if what I was saying did actually make any improvements. I had a play around in Traktor, which isn't perfect, but just to get an idea. Took a loop out and played with the levels to hear the changes. Not perfect as I am doing it live. Gave it a bit more bass and treble and turned the mids down just a touch. The 2nd time I did it was probably better as you don't notice the change so much until it goes back the the normal track and notice how flat it sounds. I've marked the changes on the waveform. https://soundcloud.com/kodiak_music/klubbheads-edit/s-LsIpc In your DAW this would be easier to do and you can isolate the appropriate instruments.

Great idea.... Such a classic tune asking for the Melbourne treatment. Although I find the bass a bit lacking, or gets lost in all the high sounds in there. This is one of those tunes you really want to kick hard. A little bit more on the kick and the off beat bass and leave the rest as is and I think I would be happier. Or maybe balance it out a bit more? But it's not my tune.... Just doesn't seem to have the driving bass line synonymous with the Melbourne sound. But I LOVE this idea. Such a perfect song to do this to. This is the type of remix that would be an instant purchase on Beatport for me.

You realise this will halve the volume to each set of headphones?

You paid actual money for this?

It's on the front page of iTunes store too! In the "News & Noteworthy" section.

The NI stuff looks good. They really are trying to take it to Pioneer.

360 - Price Of Fame Ft Gossling (Slop Rock Remix)
Kodiak replied to Tomy's topic in Electro & Bangers
Hey these Slop Rock fellas seem to know what they are doing. -
You won't be getting a job at Harvey Norman any time soon with that attitude.

It's not an individual code. Good until the 16th.... "CUP2014"
-
I think there is a big difference with individual tracks on zippy share etc. I don't think any of us begrudge those take downs.

It did affect my mixes because I wasn't getting my levels right. I had more bass in my cans than in my monitors. And early feedback I got when I joined here was my levels were out of whack. But this is with decent studio monitors where placement is probably more important than cheapies.
-
Before I set my monitors up properly they were just to my left. When I set them up properly I was blown away by the amount of bass I now had. Previously I was pretty disappointed with how they sounded. But set up correctly made a huge difference.

*Discretionary Warning* You will hear horrible singing in the link... You have been warned! Auto-Tune has been embraced by the music industry for its ability to create polished, listenable recordings when an artist lacks the natural talent to hit every note. That's the nice way of saying it. Engineers also turn to Auto-Tune when dealing with truly wretched "singers." And they're using it everywhere. All the time. Pop star Britney Spears became the latest showcase of all that Auto-Tune makes possible this month after an unaltered studio session voice track leaked online. It's for a song called "Alien" from Spears' 2013 album Britney Jean. The finished song (with copious amounts of pitch correction) can be heard here. This version sounds nothing like that. Spears, who by now should be a recording studio veteran in every sense, is off the mark from start to finish. It's bad enough to be almost unlistenable at first, and doesn't get much better as the song progresses. "SHE IS MAGNIFICENT! AND THAT’S THAT." Soon after the track leaked, producer William Orbit rushed to Spears' defense and suggested that what we're hearing is a first-take warm up. He urged listeners not to judge Britney's vocal prowess too harshly on this one recording alone. "I'd like to affirm that any singer when first at the mic at the start of a long session can make a multitude of vocalisations in order to get warmed up," he wrote on Facebook. "Warming up is essential if you’re a pro, as it is with a runner doing stretches, and it takes a while to do properly. I’ve heard all manner of sounds emitted during warmups," Orbit wrote. "The point is that it is not supposed to be shared with millions of listeners." This one was, though, and Orbit claims it was leaked with "unkind" intentions. "Britney is and always will be beyond stellar! She is magnificent! And that’s that." But Orbit's explanation is a weak one. Even when singing on a scratch track that no one will ever hear, most vocalists at least try to keep in tune. And again, if they are warming up in front of the mic, it's usually not this bad. Spears, who has sold over 100 million records, is currently in the midst of a Las Vegas residency with her Piece of Me stage show. Thankfully she doesn't need to worry about being separated from Auto-Tune on the strip; Spears lip syncs during her performances. http://www.theverge.com/2014/7/9/5884649/untouched-britney-spears-vocal-track-no-autotune?utm_content=buffer8b044&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer Check it out before the publishers pull it off the internet.

Depending on what source material you are playing through it of course. Regardless, quality to me was not painfully obvious. The second point of my first post is still relevant. It's not the music I would normally listen to, and then I would prefer to chose exactly what I wanted to listen to. Hence the main reason why I don't listen to ADJF radio. I also do 90% of my music listening in my car which brings me back to the phone streaming data issues.

Sounds pretty good actually.... Although still a bit of (what I am guessing, unless it is actually part of the source material - Tony De Wit Tokyo Mix - Good mix too) extra hiss on the hihats. Betting it's not 320kbps though. 192? Or some form of variable bit rate? For me 192kbps is where it becomes somewhat reasonable, 228 better. I personally can't tell any difference between 320kbps mp3 and an AIFF from Beatport, but this is more to do with the less than ideal way dance music (and most modern music) is mastered than anything else.... But that is a whole other subject all together. This is just listening through my HD-25's... But they are a reference I am used to. I'm really interested in how I went now?
