I saw you were packing your shit for a move, thought it would just be into a new joint.... Big move. Have fun with it. Should be cheap travel out of Singapore? edit: I am so going to have to come visit. Want to visit the Marina Bay Sands so bad. And just take photos around the area.
  2. It the digital version of crate digging.... Find a genre and play song after song until you find ones you like. I tend to stick to the top 100 of each genre or maybe some of the playlist or releases. But I find many of the releases that are on there are pretty crap. I don't often buy full albums on there unless it is full of songs I like and there is value in buying the lot. I did recently buy the Toolroom Miami 2014 album 66 songs plus 3 mixes for $24 (minus my 20% discount I used at the same time). Also grabbed the 2013 one while I was there.
  3. Looking for modified S4 setups and found these....
  4. Just playing around with a couple tunes while the FNCP was waiting to ramp up and there was nobody on live.
  5. Hey
  6. I'm happy with my 8" M-Audio. But if I was doing it again, and had the funds I'd do the 6+10 inch combo. I'm sure it would sound better plus 8" monitors are huge and I'd have more desk real estate.
  7. Good set of monitors for sure... Not that I have experience with production but I have tinkered with audio shit for years. My M-Audio BX8 monitors sound very good. As good as some high end hi-fi gear I have heard over the years. I love the sound of my hd25's to listen to music. I find their sound is sweet, but not a flat balanced sound that you want for production. I have some Alessandro MS -1's that have a very flat sound and would suit this better.
  8. You are using the F1 purely to control cue points, is that right? If you had an S2 then you wouldn't need it or you could use it for samples as intended.
  9. So finally had my first ever go at mixing live to an audience (of Beatless, Scottie, Spitfire and not sure who else). Ran out of my songs I had actually lprepared at the 1 hour mark and was totally winging it for the next hour with no clues on any cue points or even what some of the songs were. But I was having fun. Starts with some old skool hip hop inspired Nu Disco, House and quite a bit of Tech House rounding out my 2 hours with coming back to some funk. I'm now looking forward to being a semi regular on the the FNCP/SACP roster if people are happy to have me on. or http://mixlr.com/drc1/showreel/breaking-the-cherry-2/ There are some rough bits.. Some definite "ahh fuck it" moments towards the end. The joys of live, un-prepared mixing.
  10. Now that the radio has gone to Mixlr, is there anyway we can get tags to embed the player here?
  11. I re-played that a few times to see what I was missing and could hear no faults.
  12. My replies in Red. Overall I think it's a great first go. Everyone has a first mix that is not so flash. What equipment are you using? I think AlexJ addressed most thing things, so I won't repeat what has already been said.
  13. I'm listening now... Will come back with some detailed feedback. But from what I'm reading, forget effect, for now at least. They are one of those "look at me, I'm using effects" things that in all honesty very few real DJ's use much of. It becomes a bit Paris Hiltony in you are just turning knobs and fucking up the song rather than adding to it (unless you actually are good at it). Everyone is different and has their own style. For me, I actually like playing out the first song almost completely. I find it sets a tone and I like to build a set rather than smack right in the face on the outset. But the first and last songs are usually the only ones I play all the way through. But this I have found has come with experieince. Still listening....
  14. This is a problem... If the question needs to be asked... Just ask Empia. Is it really that hard? No... It's not. That's how I read it. Just stating that if someone has to ask then there may be a problem. Also why I would never use DrC1 if I was to ever play out. I actually like "DJ Wrex" as simple and easy to read and say.

  16. Think it only ever applies one at a time.
  17. Cool page... But what happens when more than one are on at the same time?
  18. Was listening last night wondering who lab rat was.
  19. Personalised again.. Check your emails.
  20. 20% is back for a couple days.
  21. Anyone seen this recently? Beatport have introduced a music management software that also integrates the store and works with other DJ tools like Rekordbox, Traktor and Serrato (and iTunes). Looks interesting. I would like an itune like program just to keep my DJ music separate. Hopefully a PC version isn't far away. Beatport Pro for Mac
  22. Received take down notification of one of my mixes.... Goodbye Soundcloud. Will cancel my paid subscription soon as I get home. Mixcloud it is for me from now on.
  23. The could be interesting.
