  1. Music theory is as big a subject as maths and science. There are multiple uni degrees deducated to it. But saying that, for EDM production only a limited knowledge is required. But the more knowledge you have the less trial and error you will experience.
  2. Yep. People go to a LOT of effort to sample drums.
  3. Don't you pick a key and compose your song accordingly? How else do you know what range of notes to use?
  4. Haven't you got that backwards?
  5. Good Shit!!! Liked, followed and all that jazz. I like that the download was the full song too, not just the 2 minutes of the soundcloud clip.
  6. That was the best part of that movie.
  7. Which would be Music, produced Electronically, predominantly for the purpose of Dancing to? Electronic Dance Music.... How more vague do you want it to be? How in any way does that specifically imply the music that happens to be popular (progressive house) in the WORLD right now? So as I take it he is calling himself a douchbag.... Seems to fit...
  8. If he doesn't play EDM then what does he play? Contemporary jazz, hip hop, grunge?
  9. Would rather go on the original, if I could.
  10. Recording will be perfect. Better than any other form of adapter.
  11. So if I come along and play the latest popular banger, that's my 1 song done. Can I have the prize now or later?
  12. I've never laid hands on any other controller but from pictures they all look much the same. Yes, smaller than CDJ's but all controllers seem to be similar... Maybe I am wrong. Can't be too much of a problem for most. As for controllers there is only one that gets any use from the pro's and it's not the Pioneer ones.
  13. Just wondering what makes the S4 different for beat matching than any other controller?
  14. I can see one? It should be activated for this section. Just had a look around and I don't get it for "The Music" section
  15. Why is there no thanks/like button in this area? Cheers. Always appreciate your work.
  16. Many, many, many, many hours were spent on my Amiga in my younger days. Mods were my first introduction to electronic music. My last ever Music assignment in grade 12 was a song I'd written in Octamed. The teacher didn't know how to mark it as they were expecting a more tradition kind of recording. This was in 1995, things were very different back then.
  17. I was wanting a Line 6 modeling amp when I bought my last guitar a few years ago. Ended up with a Peavey Vypr instead due to local availability.
  18. I picked up a heap of tracks too.
  19. Sure? The email was about DJ Tools. I haven't tried yey but I'm guessing it will apply across the board.
  20. save25 for 25% off. Will check it out soon to make sure it works. Getting some more tunes together to make the most of it.
  21. Only ever used it for the awesome milkdrop visualisations.
  22. Ditto
  23. And Sol would know this how? Should he also have a different opinion depending on who he is talking to? Is well known that the intended recipient of these funds, the artists get nothing. All money is eaten up by admin and bureaucracy costs. Happy for any of our successful producers to inform me otherwise if this isn't the case... But that's a discussion for another thread.
  24. Hoping for a awesome black Friday (29 November) code. Will get my entire basket of its good
  25. Awesome! If you ever make it available for download please let us know. Voted n shared.
